DECA State Competition!

The Aware to Care team attended the SCDC Competition this past weekend in Boston, MA. The conference held 3,000 students, advisors, teachers, chaperones, alumni and more. The King Philip DECA Chapter brought all teams to compete in their assigned category.

The Aware to Care team competed in the Public Relations category Friday morning. The team presented their campaign to a judge, then to be scored on both their written manual and presentation.

On Saturday morning the Aware to Care team placed 1st in Public Relations, earning a spot to compete at the ICDC conference in Anaheim, California at the end of April.

We would like to thank Megan, Glen and Malia Jusczyk for their continuous support for our campaign. Through events we volunteered at, our own events they attended as well as allowing us to help spread awareness of Neuroblastoma, they truly have shaped our campaign. We would be no where without their guidance and help.

We would also like to thank our DECA advisor, Mr. James Dow. He has given us endless amounts of support and guidance in the classroom, helping us build our campaign and being able to reach out to those in our community and beyond. We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to travel to Anaheim, California with him as we hope to continue the success the chapter holds.

We would also like to recognize two King Philip DECA teams who also competed in the Public Relations Category; Alive and Alert & A Story Told in Green and Gold. They have shown us support through our campaign by helping at our events and overall displaying amazing sportsmanship. To be the group to move on to the final round of competition, we will not let them down in hopes of earning the international title at ICDC.
